What We Believe

A Summary of Our Core Beliefs

The Bible

  • We believe that the Bible was supernaturally inspired by God so that all its words are the written true revelation of God, it is therefore inerrant and authoritative in all matters.

The Trinity

  • We believe there is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All things exist for His glory.

God the Father

  • We believe the Father the source of all that God is and does.He is the designer of creation, the speaker of revelation, the author of redemption, and the sovereign of history.

God the Son (Jesus)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human. Jesus came to give His life to pay the penalty of sin. He physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will one day physically return.

God the Holy Spirit

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the giver of all life. He is the agent of inspiration and the new birth; He restrains sin and Satan; and He indwells and sanctifies all believers.

Sin

  • We believe that Adam, the first man, willfully disobeyed God, bringing sin and death into the world. As a result, all persons are sinners from conception, which is evidenced in their willful acts of sin. The deserved penalty for sin is both physical and spiritual death.

Jesus' Sacrifice

  • We believe that Jesus Christ died as the sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin. Three days after His death, Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven  where He now intercedes for believers.

Salvation

  • We believe that only through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repentance from sin can one be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy, now and in eternity.

The Church

  • We believe that the local church is an assembly of baptized believers, under the discipline of the Word of God and the lordship of Christ, organized to worship, evangelize, make disciples, and serve.

The End

  • We believe that the return of Christ for all believers is imminent. It will be followed by seven years of great tribulation, and then the coming of Christ to establish His earthly kingdom for a thousand years. The unsaved will then be raised and judged according to their works, and eternally punished in hell. The saved will be raised to eternal reward in heaven.
